University of Alaska Anchorage

Space Creator was lucky to get to work with the Cabinet and leadership team of the University of Alaska Anchorage to unfold ways in which systemic racism and historic inequality actually plays out today. We explored how legislation and de-facto segregation created two different sets of opportunities for black and white Americans even as late as the mid 1900’s, and how those decisions have been reified and continue to create what is often two fundamentally different American experiences.

PSA Airlines

Space Creator joined the executive leadership and managers of PSA Airlines - a wholly owned subsidiary of American Airlines - to provide a day-long retreat about diversity, inclusion, and organizational culture. We explored content, engaged in dialogue, and worked through some collaborative exercises. The team left with self-created language toward a company statement of values and inclusion, and with vision to continue the work.

Otterbein University

We’ve loved working with a whole retinue of leaders from this university, from the Chief of Staff to the Institutional Advancement team to groups of emerging student leaders. Through our time together we’ve unfolded thinking around inclusive excellence, leadership development, personal and professional growth through seasons of change, and creating an organizational culture where everyone gets to get better all the time.

Discover has been one of Space Creator’s partners in learning for some time. We’ve worked with their ERG leaders, and created events that many of their folks have attended. We’ve gotten to talk with folks from the Chicago home office, the Columbus call center, and their young leaders across the country.  We’ve specifically explored the concept of “diversity fatigue,” and how those within the Discover employee footprint can address that fatigue, and help others engage anew in the work.

We’ve had the pleasure of working with an elementary building over the last year and a half. We’ve gathered teachers, staff, and administrators to explore the dual nature of inclusion in a school: curating an organizational culture that benefits everyone, and designing inclusive classroom cultures that engage and empower all students. It’s been an amazing experience to coach, train, and ask hundreds of questions of the team. While there are no “quick fixes,” we know that we are providing meaningful support and new ways of thinking and addressing consistent challenges.

When Space Creator first engaged with Hobart Brothers it was to provide some D&I 101 training. The team was so eager to learn we ended up coming back, over and over and over. In just two years, they’ve gone from working to define what “diversity”means to hosting their own internal anti-racism employee group, designing and facilitating company-wide conversations. It’s an honor to help curate the kind of space where those conversations could grow and gain momentum.

Even with a well-cared for brand, Space Creator worked with leadership to explore what’s working, what’s not, and to continue to empower leaders to create space for growth and development.

Emergent Leader
DSW was really energized by the Emergent Leader content, given the number of young professionals within their employee base, and their desire to retain and advance those young professionals. They worked with us to host the very first in-person gathering for Emergent Leader, and even brought in their CEO for sharing and a Q&A. We gathered over 20 fantastic leaders from around the area, and over 200 young professionals came to have roundtable conversations about personal and professional growth, empathy and connection, and culture.

As one of only a few recommended DEI and culture coaches through the OSBA team, Space Creator has been able to work with their staff and speak at several statewide conferences. Recently, we were thrilled to guide their leadership team through an intensive Accelerant Culture workshop series. We did the hard work of showing up honest and vulnerable, and the series culminated in an all-team event where staff members got to see the results of a culture assessment and weigh-in with their suggestions for continued effort.

M/I Homes

M/I Homes engaged Space Creator to support their DEI Committee in identifying and actioning on cultural factors that contribute to (or create an obstacle to) employee thriving. We spent time with the Committee, the HR team, and leaders across their 18 city divisions sprinkled across the country, ultimately deciding to implement Accelerant Culture with all their divisions. We worked with teams across the country - building trust, asking hard questions, and inviting them into a continual exploration of what getting better might look like.

Honda

From keynoting their North American Inclusion Summit, to providing in-depth learning to local leadership teams, to facilitating conversation for their LGBTQ+ Employee Resource Group, Space Creator has been a consistent support to Honda’s teams. It’s been an honor. We’ve been able to work on everything from understanding diversity & inclusion, to personal growth and development in seasons of shift, to authentic relationship-building. Most recently we partnered with their Quality department across a 3-state footprint to begin implementing the Accelerant Culture framework.
